Sky-Map 3.08

Sky-Map is a comprehensive moving map navigation and flight planning system designed for aviation use. Similar to its versions on other platforms, it offers a range of functionalities aimed at enhancing situational awareness and operational planning.

• Moving Map: Displays the pilot's current position on digital aviation charts, such as ICAO charts from DFS. Please note that map data is not included.
• Fast navigation features: Enables quick panning and zooming of the map for efficient situational assessment.
• Flight Planning: Allows for route planning directly on the map or via a waypoint database. Routes can be saved, loaded, and modified as needed.
• Performance Calculations: Provides estimates of distances, flight times, wind influence, and fuel consumption to assist in flight planning.
• Approach and Airport Charts: Automatically displays relevant charts if AIP data is installed.
• Airspace Warnings: Notifies pilots of controlled or restricted airspace zones.
• Terrain overlay and altitude warnings: Enhances safety by visualizing terrain data and alerting to altitude hazards.
• "Direct to" Functionality: Facilitates quick routing to selected waypoints or airports.
• "Nearest Airports": Provides a list of closest airports for quick identification.
• AIP Browser: Accesses approach and airport charts along with textual information when AIP data is installed.
• PCMet Browser: Offers rapid access to weather data, with additional costs applicable for PCMet service access.
• Radar and GAFOR Display: Shows precipitation radar data and GAFOR (General Aviation Forecast), subject to additional PCMet costs.
• Logbook Function: Automates recording of key flight details such as start time, position, landing time, and flight duration.
• Checklist and Info Panels: Enables creation and display of customizable panels for monitoring speed, altitude, distance, time, etc.
• Background Recording: Records logbook entries and flight tracks while in motion; note that continued GPS use may impact device battery life.

The included basemap covers global regions but is not intended for navigation. Additional charts from the Flight Planner/Sky-Map database require separate installation.
